This week our whole family (7 adults and 7 children) has a big family knees up at my parents house in Surrey. Their house is filled with work I have made over the years including these rather odd, but strangely pretty panels which are made of under water plants between sheets of perspex.
I made these during my foundation art course over 16 years ago. The importance of them is that it was because I made these that I went onto study a degree in glass, and marry my husband.
I remember showing them to a friend (who is now my husband) who said maybe I could do a glass degree. I didn't know there was such a thing. So I did my research and applied and was accepted onto the Glass and Architectural glass course at Edinburgh College Of Art.
So it all begin with these.
